The current composition of the SD_AC Council is established in accordance with the Bylaw for the organization of elections in Doctoral Schools at UPB, approved by the UPB Senate in 2016. The Council comprises 7 core members (4 doctoral supervisors, 2 PhD students, and 1 external scientific personality) and 4 honorary members.

Duties of the SD_AC Director
- Executive management of doctoral study programs
- Monitoring compliance with the activities calendar
- Coordinating annual doctoral admission sessions
- Approving supervision committees and public defence commissions
- Verifying institutional protocols for joint and co-supervised doctoral programs
- Representing SD_AC within UPB's Council for Doctoral Studies (CSUD)
Duties of the SD_AC Council
- Developing and coordinating the doctoral research strategy in SE and CIT domains
- Coordinating the full doctoral study program in both domains
- Ensuring quality standards in accordance with applicable law
- Setting the doctoral activities calendar
- Approving credit equivalences for doctoral students
- Approving affiliation of new habilitated researchers or faculty
- Managing the SD_AC budget
- Supervising co-supervised doctoral programs and research stages abroad
- Allocating funded and fee-based positions per domain and supervisor
